RE: Becoming a Gunner in 1980s Ireland

I hope you were not see as the bad egg of the family for choosing not to support Liverpool 😂.

True, like you said, some inherited the club they support as I've seen a number of people like that. However, I started supporting Arsenal due to the Nigerian connection (at that time Nwankwo Kanu) and I loved him so much that I hated whenever Thierry Henry never passed the ball to him. I held the notion that the latter was selfish. Nevertheless, I grew to love him (Henry) so much too.

Thinking back at the 2005 FA Cup final now gives me goose bumps.

Ah Nwankwo Kanu!!! A legend and a gentleman. I loved him as a player, such skill and craft for a big man. This goal always sticks in my mind from the big man. This was before many others had done it. Goal at 2:15.

I couldn't help but watch till the end. My favorite of him was against Chelsea, that game where he scored from almost the most impossible of angles.

Ah yes, when he rounded the keeper and had to beat two defenders on the line! That one was a cracker as well. Top top player. We could do with him today!

Absolutely! Seeing Eddie Nketiah do those flicks today reminds me of him. How far a player Eddie is from him. Their generation was really golden.
