My neighbor hung this decoration in her front door to welcome Santa. Her son was 3 that year and so excited for Christmas.
I was photographing Christmas decorations for a class I was taking in Stock Photography and every one of these is a fail.
In stock you are supposed to have "white space" so a client can put their own text for advertising or marketing. None of these succeeds in allowing that text to be entered.
Not only is this ornament ugly, it is photographed in the center of the frame and backed by a very odd set up that cannot be used for text.
This stocking is the best of the bunch, but being on a tilt makes it awkward for adding text. It is also slightly out of focus.
Can you believe I still have that green towel with me years later here in Kuala Lumpur? I never use it, so who knows why I have kept it.
Here I have done everything possible to make this photo hard to use. It would have been good set off the the left or right. The instructor liked the ornament for being unique.
I used a Canon Rebel DLSR for these photos. At the time I thought I needed a good camera like that. I later found out it was too hard to use and carry with arthritic hands, and went back to point and shoot. Much better for me!
