Please, I would like to ask if anyone can onboard their friends or family members on Hive or if they have to be a local guide before they can onboard or sign-up others on Hive.
Anyone can onboard. If you have enough HP you can get free account creation tokens.
I think you need around 5000 HP to get 1 token every 5 days, but you can use one easiest on PeakD.
Just go to the wallet page, then where you would unstake/delegate you will see an option to use claim tokens.
You will first need to claim a token with the top option. Keep in mind, this will use a lot of RC.

You can always point them to https://hiveonboard.com/, if there are available tokens, they will be able to sign up for free.
There is always an option to pay 3 Hive to sponsor an account.
