We could all do with an extra 10k or 100k for sure, this economic system has got us between a rock, a hard place and our feet set on fire from underneath

I am glad to be earning dollars, but at the same time, I feel that if I were in South Africa, the prestige and income from my husbands job would make it so that I could stay home. I don't know exact economics but I do know that percentage wise, he is a top earner and we STILL can't make it work without my income. Makes me wonder how everybody else makes it work.
