Pilsen: From Božkov to Lobzy

Today I had about an hour after work. I took a trolleybus to the part of Pilsen called Božkov. Here you will find not only old farm houses but also the well-known liqueur Stock with the production of rum and fernet.
Today, however, I pass and head towards the river towards the city of Lobzy.
I will start my short, barely three-kilometer walk at the trolleybus stop No. 12 - Na Spojce.

Here I turn around this house with a pink facade into Na Vyhlídce street. The weather changes sharply and the icy wind blows. It rains here and there the sun shines there.

At the end of the street I find myself high above one of the four rivers in Pilsen, Úslava.

This river springs in Klatovy near the village Číhaň. The water flows here infamously from the melioration tube.

Behind the view of the river it is a short distance to the Lobez shooting range.

We cross the pedestrian bridge and take a closer look. If we have more time, we can visit the local restaurant.

Still view from the footbridge on the river slowly flowing ... Confluence of regulated Úslava with Božkovský brook.

And we're at the shooting range. The world-class army shooting stadium is now operated by the Dukla Plzeň Sports Shooting Club.
Unfortunately, I could not find out more about his history. In any case, aerial photographs from 1956 already show the original army shooting range situated in a former quarry with a minimum number of buildings.

I will bypass the shooting range from the left. I notice the flood closure of the local stream in the perimeter wall of the building. It can be seen that the flood in 2002 has greatly instructed the facility manager.
The shooting range was then underwater.

The flood barrier is simply ingenious, permeable in one direction only. It is actually a simple pressure valve.

Now my way is going up. Everywhere is a lot of tracks from forged horse hooves. The way across the meadow is obviously a favorite.

I have a view of the Slovany and Světovar districts. Too bad it's cloudy again. I can also see the ruins of Radyně Castle, which dominates the South of Pilsen.

These terraced houses are already in Lobzy. I will continue between the row houses and the garages down to Revoluční Avenue along K Dalmatince Street.

I'm going through this seaside passage between prefabs and I'm already in the center of Lobez.

And this is already the Catholic Church of St. Martin and Prokop. The neo-Gothic church building dates back to 1905. As I can confirm from the Church Night, inside we find a simple, simple, modern interior.
There is also a Salesian Youth Leisure Center by the church.

It is only a short walk from the church to the monument to one of the leaders of the 1918 Rumburk Revolt.

We look at the detail of the monument, two figures and a double-headed eagle.

A monument with a double-headed eagle is dedicated to the victims of world wars and Stanek Vodička, a native of Lobez (1895), one of the leaders of the Rumburk Revolt (Wiki)
Stanko Vodička is buried in the cemetery at st. George in Pilsen - Doubravce.

Near the Salesian Youth Center my walk ends. From there I will take trolleybus No. 15 back to the city center ...

There's no way to ventilate your head a bit.
