Baler Hanging Bridge of Barangay Zabali

in #travelfeed4 years ago (edited)

We've visited a lot of great places in Aurora Province in just one day. It started out in Ronquillo Balete Eco-Park, where we visited a huge and more than 600-year old tree, and Baler Plaza and the House of Aurora Quezon.

Our next stop is the Baler Hanging Bridge which is located in Barangay Zabali. The bridge is not too far from the town, and there are road signs which will lead you to the area. You can also ask the locals who are friendly. But if you have data connection, you might want to use your GPS and Google Maps.

According to the locals, the bridge is about 200 meters long. Perhaps it is because I am not really good at estimating measurements. Lol!

The hanging bridge actually needs regular maintenance because some parts are scary. There are some slight damages that needs repair considering it can risk the lives of tourists. When we went there, many people are coming in. They should also check the volume of people walking in the bridge so as not to compromise safety. There's a sign which prohibits jumping, running, and swinging in the bridge because of possible risks, but some people wants to scare others by doing so.

From the bridge, you're going to see the mouth of the river to the see. There you can see an island from the afar. What I loved being at that part of the bridge is the fresh air despite the hot weather at that time.

While at the bridge, you will notice the mountains. That's because the place is actually mountainous, and you will see great views of the place because it takes you closer to nature.

The place is still under development. The local government is making some improvements to entice more tourists. Would love to go back and see this part look better.

It's gloomy at that time, but it's pretty warm and humid. The view will actually look better with the sun out because blue skies will reflect in the place. For sure, the water will appear bluer.

As I mentioned above, the development team or the government should impose maintenance on the bridge. There is no entrance fee, but you can give some donations in the boxes from both ends. At the opposite side of the bridge, there are some stores where you can buy souvenirs or pasalubongs. Someone is also selling ice candy, which we availed. I wasn't impressed with the taste though despite its price is higher than the better ones you can buy elsewhere. They are also selling a fruit which some people are unfamiliar of. I know about the fruit which is Nipa fruit. It costs Php 25 which is expensive because its fruit is very tiny. Nipa is actually considered a mangrove palm as it grows at the river banks.

Our visit to the Baler Hanging Bridge is worth it. It will get you closer to nature, and of course, enjoy your walk at the thrilling bridge.

Our next stop? Soon...
