RE: Brain Fry - (Short Story, Based on a Nightmare)

in #steempeak5 years ago (edited)

Weird! Not just weird on its face, but because I once had a pretty similar dream. Similar in that it involved a sudden alien invasion, confusion, and the invaders either killing people outright or converting people to become like them - and me and a few others evading them, for now...
In my dream it was a big outdoor concert, and they were using some kind of injections in the "crash" tents, only there were far too many people being taken in there, and the injections didn't seem to be making anyone better...
Just like your dream, mine quickly processed from seeming normal, to unsettling, to horror. It was disturbing, as I still remember years later.
I may or may not have been under the influence of some painkillers from having my wisdom teeth pulled when I had the dream 🤔

Thank you for sharing your scary dream story with me as well @wholeself-in,

It sounds equally as terrifying as this one.

I was writing this the second I woke up, because I tend to forget dreams sometimes if I don't, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't going to forget this one regardless. It was very very vivid, and one of those dreams where I was able to literally feel things. It seemed as real as real can be..

When I was a child I had the ability to "construct" my dreams, control them. That stopped after puberty, but I still have pretty vivid dreams sometimes.

Usually I figure out metaphorical meanings, and apply them to my life. This one, I'm not sure if there is a meaning for.

In the end, it felt as if the entire thing was specifically intended for me.. As is everyone else was just avatars used in a game, and the ultimate objective was to play with me like a scientist experimenting on animals.

I really think there is more to dreams than we realize, it was just way too real..

Thank you for taking the time to comment and share your experience :)
