Things Are Happening With Steem!

in #steempeak5 years ago (edited)

Oh yes they are!

I would like to share a little news with you all, some things I find very exciting regarding the Steem blockchain.

Two things (and there is more going on than this, but these are just some things that I am personally very excited about and hopeful for.)

First things first. I created a new account today for the first time ever, with resource credits. It was a little nerve-racking, and the feeling was akin to a virgin for the first time going in, but it went great, and I came to completion with a joyous successful feeling. Pure jubilation!

I used Steemworld, to create the account, and WILL NOT be self voting or creating posts with this account. Its specific intended purpose is to curate on:

My intuitive based futuremind tells me great things are coming for this tribe. Please have a look at the recent post published by the official Bilpcoin account for more information on use of the tribe tag.

Damn right it is, and futuremind is going to be curating every day on the frontend.

I'm not bs-ing around here, and I do have somewhat stringent curation policies. I curate in accordance to perceived effort, and do not curate gamers. I have experience as a curator with OCD and Helpie in the past, and currently curate for eSteem and the #weedcash tribe. I know what to look for, and if you are gaming I will know, and with tribes, I consult with the administration, issue a warning to abusers, and flags will ensue if abuse continues.

So please do not attempt to abuse #bilpcoin. Eyes of experienced curators are on these tribes.

Not to get all scary sounding. I don't curate in accordance to what I like (although that is surely a bonus) I curate in accordance to effort, because not everyone has the same skill-set and/or talents, and with #newsteem, we don't want anyone who is trying their best to be left out.

Futuremind's got your back. Let's make newsteem great, and you can start by using the #bilpcoin tag.

(Cannabis enthusiasts ensure to also use the weedcash tag,for your cannabis content, because we're looking to curate you over there as well!)

The other news I'm excited about, is the release of "The first ever 3D mobile multiplayer game on the Steem blockchain!"

That's right steemians, and that is HUGE for steem.

If you would like to sign up using my referral link, it's appreciated, but alternately you can sign up without a ref link if you don't want futuremind to benefit at all. Here's the main site link if you would like to read about it https://steemknights.com/

How long until the release you might wonder?

There ya go.. Think long, think wrong ;)

That's it for now. Exciting things ahead!

Thanks for stopping by!

Much love,

I think #bilpcoin has potential as well. I have that you are able to bless many great content creators.

Thank you, I will do my best to serve the #bilpcoin community well!
Best wishes to you!

bilpcoin is new to me, I don't know anything about it yet...
I also curate on weedcoin, but not every day.

bilpcoin is pretty new to me too! I think it's along the idea of creativecoin. I resteemed the current post from the official account on my blog here, and the tribe seems pretty diverse.

Yes, I've seen you on weedcash, I'm everyone's @imaginary-friend over there :)

Thank you for stopping by! If you decide to try bilpcoin, I'm sure you'll get curated :)

Good stuff, I was just reading that bilpcoin post. I will use its tag on my next creation. How much SP did you need to create your free account?

Hey @rentmoney, happy to hear you will be using the bilpcoin tag :) I'll watch for your post on the frontend when I'm making my rounds.

With current active SP, it took a little over half of my resource credits, so somewhere in the ballpark of 4000 SP. Probably a little more. I don't know the exact number, and not sure if it fluctuates.

There are abusers on all the tribes no doubt. It's a problem on Steem. Luckily we have some very skilled abuse fighters and developers who are able to link suspicious activities.

Is there some reference material you can point me towards regarding the definition of steemit abuse activities?

It's pretty broad, and many varying opinions regarding abuse on the blockchain. Plagiarism is definitely considered abuse here, not sourcing creative commons images is considered abuse by some, but is a grey area because of variance of opinions.

Mass account creation with the intent to vote farm is widely agreed upon as abuse. Some people will use those accounts to comment a (.) on old posts to hide the activity, then upvote with alts and or/friends who are in on a circle jerk style abuse of this exploitation.

There are witnesses here who are able to link alt accounts. I don't know their techniques for doing so, but posts I've read in the past have indicated that this is an ongoing problem, and new rings are discovered everyday. Of course it happens with the tribes too.

@steemcleaners is one such account which searches for this type of abuse.
@steemflagrewards is another.
The devs from @minnowsupport manage https://steem-engine.com and have linked accounts abusing through use of tribe farming utilizing steem-engine to trade coins.
@jaguar.force Is a skilled team that hunts down and exposes plagiarism.
I'm sure there are some more efforts, these are just the ones that come to mind off the top of my head.

When it comes to tribe abuse, I help on the #weedcash network as an admin. When someone recognizes suspicious or obviously suspicious account activity, we discuss it as a team, and there are different skillsets within the team. If we make a determination that someone is abusing (collectively agreed upon), then either a warning will be issued, or if it is severe abuse to the network, like farming, then a ban from using that tribe token can be implemented to the abusing account(s).

Finding specific posts would take me a while, but you can visit these accounts as references to abuse fighting on the Steem blockchain, and perhaps there will be some posts which outline the specifics you are looking for.

I hope this helps @logiczombie :)

Cool. Thanks for the info!

There seems to be some sort of weird unspoken "votes are sacred" vibe to all of this "abuse" theory.

I tried to check "the official unofficial etiquette guide" here, LINK referenced HEREbut the page keeps crashing on me.

My pleasure @logiczombie,

The unofficial etiquette guide loads for me on https://steempeak.com (My preferred frontend, it truly is remarkable and works great in my opinion).

I think it's likely crashing because it is beyond comprehensive lol. It's a huge post with a ton of images, and most of it is very agreeable to me, but a tad outdated. It was written in 2016, and with a quick glance, I do think it is rather sound. Much of it is opinion based, and I think many might find disagreeable points, but I did not thoroughly read it yet, as I am waking from a nap and need to clear my head. (Been a busy day with much running around on almost no sleep.)

I'm going to finish waking back up here and take a look at the post you linked in your other comment for me :)

P.S. If I find any other reference material, I will come back to this comment and link it for you.

My pleasure. Do be sure to check out the settings. You can customize Steempeak quite a bit, and also, you have the ability to switch nodes. Integration with Steem Keychain is seamless, and also a tool which nodes can be switched with, as well as many other options for transacting on the blockchain. (It works with signing transactions on Steemworld too.)

More curation of quality content is always a good thing.

"The other news I'm excited about, is the release of 'The first ever 3D mobile multiplayer game on the Steem blockchain!'"

Nice! That kind of thing can only help us.

Holy smokes! @artisticscreech!!!

It's great to see you! 🤗

Exciting things are happening indeed, and the manual curation efforts are better than they have ever been.

Eyes on your blog right now.. 🧐

So nice to see you again :)

Thanks.

Haha Yeah manual curation is the best. I love my auto-votes but it always feels good when someone actually reads and likes your post enough to vote for it.

It is good to know that you have created a new account.
Abuse is everywhere but we need to be careful.

I ll definitely chek out this new 3D game and signup through your link.

Have a nice day friend.

There are abusers on all the tribes no doubt. It's a problem on Steem. Luckily we have some very skilled abuse fighters and developers who are able to link suspicious activities.

I do wish there was a way to have seperate VP for single accounts, this way curating tribes would be efficient with one account, but the current system doesn't make it practical for curators.

It was fun to learn the process of creating a free account with resource credits though. This means I can create accounts for people who are interested in Steem so they won't have to wait for Steemit. That is one nice use of RC account creation.

Thank you for using my link! That is very kind of you. I have high hopes for the game, and hopefully it will be a success. The first mobile game for Steem, that is a major achievement for Steem!

Thank you for your kind words.

Have a nice day friend.

Congrads on the new account.

Thank you @steemitqa!

It makes me want to go out and start shilling Steem to random people, then tell them I can make them an account instantly, free of charge! :)

Looks like a great tribe to follow. It is hard to navigate a system with so many options, so I will rely on recommendations.

Yes, it's tough to keep up with everything and everyone indeed. We're all doing our best, and I'm sure the system will improve over time.

You've already made a little bilpcoin just by commenting on this post! So it doesn't hurt to try the tag out :)

Thank you for stopping by!

I think bilpcoin is a great tribe I've been supporting it from the start 👍🏾

It's great to hear some positive feedback about the tribe!

I've been having this feeling about it since the airdrop, and frequently checking on the market, as well as the frontend. I noticed many people are staked, and not a ton of curating going on, also noticed an opportunity to obtain a decent stake for cheaply.

Had a meeting with @bilpcoin this morning, very respectful, very happy to invite me onto the curation efforts.

Indeed I feel great things coming, and am excited to be a part of it!

Thank you for the encouragement and support!

I really believe this tribe will go far once more people know about it
it's great you are here to help out 🤞🏾🚀
I brought a ton of BPC for cheap I will buy a bit more today when I get back from the gym 👍🏾

Thank you for supporting us #bilpcoin
