And he's gone....... Bye Amorim.

Ruben Amorim, the latest United manager to get the road. It's been a tough 14 months for United under their latest coach/manager but in all fairness it's been a tough decade since fergie left. They have tried and tested every type of manager out there since then with varying levels of success and failure.

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United legacy:

  • 63 Matches
  • 25 Wins
  • 23 Losses
  • 99 Points Dropped
  • 122 Scored
  • 114 Conceded

A lot of people are delighted he has been sacked and calling his tenure a total failure.........

I'm not so sure.

I would have liked to see him get the three years. United are playing better football than i've seen in a long time. They bought well in the summer. They were getting confidence back into players that had been poor for a very long time.

Are his stats shit? Yes.

But he took over a team doing shit.
Where the whole club has been in shit for a long time.
Where the stadium is on shit.
With the finances in shit.

It's not all on his shoulders and bar a couple of draws turning into wins United would be in the top three and in position to challenge Arsenal.

I think that they pulled the trigger at the wrong time and unless you back a coach over the long term things will never get better.

The owners need to focus on turning the finances around and let the coach built his team and play the game.

Instead they do this and leave the club without a coach,

Ruben Amorim will cost Man United a total of £27.35million! 😳💰
£9.5million compensation fee to Sporting
£7.8million already earned from his contract
£10.05million pay-out on the rest of his contract

And throw away even more money.
I don't even know where they go next.
There are very few decent coaches out there and even less that would want to touch the shit show that is United at the moment.

I'm looking on paddy power at the odds ad the selection is piss poor....

The players are there for a good coach and they are in a decent position to get European football next year so hopefully the players can do it for themselves and go out with some pride.

Other than that it's only going to be more pain ahead for us long suffering fans.

They should be making a Netflix series on the club and at least generate some revenue from the circus that is Manchester United.

I have tickets to go over to Old Trafford in April so it should be an interesting trip with all of this going on.

I do wonder if another coach would have done better with the same squad.
Also strange that they did fire him now, with lots of players to the Africa Cup.

Time will tell, but I will not be surprised if the new coach would buy some new players and fail also. There is something fundamentaly wrong since Ferguson's retirement.

A lot of their games were very winnable that they drew but is it really the managers fault??
Or the players on the pitch, or the subs that were made.
It's hard to know if another coach would have won those games but i don't see many good replacements out there and it looks like they are just going to keep an interim manager until the end of the season so that makes the decision look even more personal for speaking against the board.

His last pressconference before he got fired tells me that he already knew what was going to happen.

Not Amorims biggest fan but I admired his brutal honestly reminded me a little of ralf rangnick in bits with the way he spoke and was honest about the situations. on the other hand i could not see a future with Amorim under Ineos with how the club was run. Amorim will get all the blame but United need to change at the top. sacking a manager early in january, who do we appoint now and more importantly do we now even sign any players.

Amorin will resurface again, have learned a lot from his apprenticeship at OT, perhaps even become famous manager, in time.

I was still on the fence but i think they were going in a better direction this year.
If they got their african players back and some of the injured they have great chance at top four with other teams focused on Europe and the other cups.

It looks like just an interim coach until the end of the season which says a lot.

I think that Amorim will get another job soon and do very well at it.

Alongside those pretty damning statistics and his comments to the press recently which suggest a big falling out with the powers that be, I think what has prompted United to act so quickly is the weird season we’re seeing in the Premier League. United have been rubbish but then so has almost everyone else so there is still a genuine chance of Champions League qualification. They’ll be hoping that a new manager gives them the bump they need to claim a top 5 finish and that sets them up for the summer and beyond.

When we get a full team back in the next couple of weeks there is a realistic chance of getting top four with the way the season has gone.

United have only this and the FA cup to focus on which is an advantage so if they can get a fully fit squad to choose form the players are there to do it.

It looks more like a personal decision than a football one since they seem to be keeping fletcher there until the end of the season. The win rate is terrible but didn't lose that many just far too many draws that we should have won.

ManUnited are wasting so many managers… sad to see this as a long time football fan.
