The Splinterlands team knows how to have fun, and I'm not surprised that this week's monster in the Share Your Battle Challenge is the Ant Miners, perhaps the most interesting of the inexpensive (both in terms of purchase and mana) Fire element cards.
Starting with the first level this card has the Scavenger ability, which adds health every time a card "dies" on the battlefield, making it a very dangerous opponent and an indispensable fighter in battles with little mana.
pumped mine up to level 5 and am very happy to use it as a "element of surprise" in battles with Stealth Mission or Reverse Speed rule, making its low speed an advantage against ranged cards.
The Reverse Speed rule was in effect in this battle, so I chose the following tactic:
- MALRIC INFERNO as the summoner (to enhance the attack);
- LIVING LAVA in first position, with low speed (which is an advantage in this case) and the ability to reduce damage from the enemy attacks;
- AGANJU in the second position to attack the enemy tank;
- ANT MINERS accumulate health and enter combat when the first two cards are down;
- CALADUUM anoshes crushing damage on the opponent's first position;
- PYROMANCER attacks the first two enemy positions;
My opponent, who often plays Death, suddenly chose Life and LORNA SHINE as his summoner, but her Divine Shield didn't help, and my ants were a great shield for my archers, taking out my opponent's cards one by one.
