Another week in the Splinterlands universe.
I don't know how but time seems to be speeding up.
Every season is getting faster and faster or else I'm just getting older and slower.
It's been a busy few weeks in the splinterlands universe but obviously the big news is the launch of the latest reward set.
Every player loves new cards and the splinterlands team have changed the game with this latest set.
It's no longer as simple as collecting glint and trading for cars. They have added layers of complexity with new reward draws, higher reward costs, unbinding scrolls and many other new features to rewards.

A new hunt begins.
I just need to finish off my previous set with three legendary cards not completed.
These two I will buy but the last one needs another six cards so might just leave it at level three. We'll see how I feel when it's the last one let.
My opinions.
As for the new set I like a lot of the new features. Unbinding scrolls are a nice idea. I have no problem with soulbound cards I just always felt that the unbinding costs were too high. At least with these you can save until the end of the season and unbind and trade anything that you have left over for whatever you need. It makes sense.
Obviously we always like getting new cards to hunt and to fill out our decks with. It will take a long time to build up this collection as the costs of chests and cards have skyrocketed which isn't good for players. I was struggling to finish this last set of cards and that's playing at champion level. People below that have very little chance of maxing cards.
I'm also loving the new skins the team have out for Halloween. Just as a sidenote. More little features like this are great to see in the game and just add a bit of fun to what we are doing every day.
The game itself is expanding in reach and complexity every season with new features and opportunities.
Even today I unlocked about thirty epic reward cards for the market as the unbinding costs is only 1000 DEC now but lowest market price is about 1600 DEC for all of them so if I can sell them quickly it's an easy win and could pay for my legendary cards that I'm missing.
The new fortune draws are going to add a bit of fun to the week. It's another sink for DEC but it gives players a chance of hitting a few jackpot cards which is great. I do wish that it was a bit more of a show for the weekly draw however. For cards as exclusive as this is was a bit of a damp squib. No flashing lights. No actual draw that we could watch. No showmanship. An easy fix and could be a great event if the team could put some sort of event into the game that takes over the site for a few minutes every week and that can be rewatched.
SPS requirements.
It looks like I'm going to have to increase my $SPS stake to take full advantage of all these new features.

I'm sitting on healthy stack of over 300K SPS right now but the goal has always been to break 1M SPS over time. Unfortunately I will need over 5M SPS to get the maximum from the new rewards system but that's not happening anytime soon. At about 40K USD that's a long way off from where I am.

While other web3 games are failing on all sides, Splinterlands has been here for seven years and going strong.
