The Day Covid Came To Town (Original Poetic Imagery)

in #poem4 years ago

Our lives changed on that day that Covid came to town.
Chaos and uncertainty - gruesome monsters they abound.
Fear fills our hearts and heads.

Never before seen, such a life-changing event,
That bruises our lungs, makes us stop paying rent.
Health and wealth come shattering down.

The "strength of man" can no longer protect
The people with whom we most closely connect.
Our babies and parents both at risk.

Weeks seem like months, months seem like years.
The news still so bleak, no reason for cheers.
New reality has settled in.

But we must still look for the bright, shining light.
Though this age is filled with despair and plight.
Let us stand strong as neighbors and friends.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone across the world who is impacted by Covid19. We live in unique times with unique challenges. A special thanks to all of the medical professionals and front line responders who are placing themselves in danger while serving their communities.
