This picture was taken at the Museo Nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú. The picture was taken on 12/18/2014 at 1:18 pm and the 1st edition was published on 04/20/2018.

Here is a sample of cranial surgery (trepanation) in ancient Peru. The hole was covered with a gold plate and there is evidence of bone growth around it indicating the that individual survived the surgery
