I found this bench in the front yard of a beachfront house in Coronado California. I was taking photos of benches at the time for a stock photography course I was taking online. We were supposed to take photos of something unremarkable yet found often in the place where we lived. Coronado has benches sitting out everywhere and I started seeing them constantly on my walks.
I like this one because is seems to be turning its back on the construction going on next door. As time went on, I started seeing personalities in the benches, and this one was showing me optimism in the face of what might otherwise be seen as bad times.
I give this example to others like me, who do not feel they are good enough to take and post photos online. All of us has something to give, and if we try and fail, we will improve over time. If we don't try, we are certain to fail.
I’m entering @socalsteemit’s Show Us Your California Contest with this memory of good times I had while living there. This week is actually a two week contest with the prizes doubled, so come on down! Let us see your California too :)
I used a Canon ELPH160 point and shoot camera for this photo.
