This scultpure is by Lee Lawrie and was created in 1937,
Atlas is a bronze statue in front of Rockefeller Center standing 45 Feet tall across Fifth Avenue from St. Patrick's Cathedral. The sculpture depicts the Ancient Greek Titan Atlas holding the heavens
Another well known piece at the Rockefeller Centre is Prometheus

Prometheus is most likely the best-known sculpture in Rockefeller Center and the most photographed sculpture in all of NYC. Created by American sculptor Paul Manship, who held a great fascination for mythological subjects and events, it has become the main attraction of the Lower Plaza. overlooking the ice skating rink when it is open

This statue stands at 18 Feet tall and as you can see sits on a small water feature with a fountain as a backdrop.
