I've been looking forward to this part of the Christmas for a long time now. Up until this it's all been about kids and family with no break for myself.
All of that is lovely but we all need some time for ourselves too. No more building presents and going to panto's. Today is golf, pints and football.
We have a bus organized to take us to the course from our local pub which is a great start to the day.
Having the bus takes all the hassle out of the trip and the worries about bringing cars and drinking pints.
The day looks nice at the moment which is a big relief as this is the one thing out of our control totally.
It's been a dry week since i've been off but we have been too busy to take any advantage of it with all of the visits and activities.
The course we are playing is less than an hour away and it used to be my local one growing up so that's a nice treat and an easy one to jump into. It also gives me a slight advantage going into the day as I know the course off by heart.
After the golf itself there is food booked in a nearby town with pints included all along the way. A few pints in the clubhouse too obviously as the team has left a nice gap between the golf and the food.
We will go for dinner and then start the trip back to the local from there with at least one stop along the way no doubt.
Hopefully just in time for the Man United game at 8.15 tonight or maybe even catch that along the way too. With United winning at the weekend this is a huge opportunity for them to get back to back wins against Wolves who are by far the worst team in the league and move into the top 4.
It should be a good day all going well.
