That was my very first thought the other day. I think we are on the same page. I am not saying it would never have come to something but I believe communication should have been exhausted before going nuclear. Which it must have seemed like.

Yeah, there is a lot of muscle flexing and we just gonna split and leave - I dont think a lot of people who are here primarily for the money (and nothing wrong with that) get how little a forked off token would be worth.
It kinda reminds me when everyone ran away to whaleshares and weku and bearshares, they ran away but they came running right back when the money wasn't there.
I am quite pissed off about it. I am mostly pissed off because there is this narrative going on here where if you disagree with the vocal majority (minority cos lots of users DGAF for politics) then you are to be sneered at or derided. Whatever happened to debate. Opinions other than your own being valid. Its almost like fucking Twitter.
I disagree with lots of people and will happily agree that we dont agree but I dont start calling them names or being snide. And I can be quite snide!

I was one of the only ones who didn't run away to double dip on those other sites. I never bought votes. I only have one account. Voted manually. Honest every step of the way. You don't get points for that though.
I've argued with many and I can say we all kinda got over it and learned to get along, so I can give a few credit there. But like I keep saying, I'm disappointed. I don't want to be forced to take sides. Fuck it. If I die alone, I die alone. I don't care.

It has been a few hours. I've been watching everything I can. Make sure you check out Justin's tweets. There's a lot of folks doing a decent job of standing up for the place as well. Some trolls of course... and that's frustrating, but whatever.
I didn't see any hostility for now. I don't think I earned much from the old ones. May be I will earn money from new ones. Older ones have enough people like me. May be they make me a part of new Steemit. Trying get their attention. May be older ones try to buy back me.
So why do you define them as "Hostile"? Everybody wants power. Now I can see that they are the most powerful ones.
Why do you still vote for old ones? What is your expectation from them? Do you know any of them?
