RE: Two men walk into a bar - a bartenders tale.

What would have done if the card didn't authorise the amount?

Sort:

At the establishment I work at we take payment before we pour the drinks, this saves us lots of bother in the long run. And as the UK doesn’t have a tipping culture for bartenders it doesn’t negatively effect me either. In all honesty though I think it would have worked out better for Jerry if his card had been declined and he had made his excuses before ever getting in that taxi, both for his credit score and physical well being.

Yes, it seems he was not making the right decisions that night huh?

Yes you’re right; I believe this was probably one of many in a whole string of poor decisions in Jerry’s life.

I wonder what might come of Jerry, whether he will pick his life up, dust it off and reinvent himself? Possible, but I'd say not probable.

He’s already good at reinventing himself, that’s the problem. I think somebody needs to take away his Instagram, Netflix and stimulants and he may have a fighting chance. Dave on the other hand just needs love but she’d have to be one hell of a woman to see him on the straight and narrow.

Sounds like a complicated situation for both. I guess similar stories are echoed all over the world. I'm not much of a drinker and haven't been one to sit idly in bars but I know some who do...Who should not. Still, keeps you in a job and probably shows you a lot about life too I'd guess.
