My Legs Look Like They Are Mummified

Many years ago I can stick these mummy-looking legs together, now they have a gap as wide as the river here near my home. I am not surprised because for one thing I am just losing weight because of my poor appetite caused by my Parathyroid medicine plus the Hyperparathyroidism just makes me weak, I am guessing that my Parathyroid condition is making me lose weight as well as my dwindling strength.

I am still thankful especially today that I am pain-free because I took some pain medication last night, the effects I can still enjoy at the time of this writing. Also, the weather here is drier and the low humidity contributes to the dryness of my ugly legs.

I haven't had a god bath too for more than a week now since my surgery so the dead skin cells are just making my skin's appearance like a rice field struck with drought. I am still thankful about these legs though because I can still use them to shuffle around to move my emaciated body from point A to point B in a short distance.

Anyway I just remember when I was just starting dialysis my weight came from 52 kilos to 48 kilos then 42 and the latest I think is 37 Kilos because I am always weighted on a wheelchair. It is nice that our dialysis center has a weighting scale that can accommodate patients in a wheelchair otherwise it will be hard for me to be weighted prior to my dialysis.

Also, may years ago when my stature began to change, my weight also had changed but I have to battle out-coughing due to an error on my right dry weight. So I asked my renal nurses to take my weight down so that fluids in my lungs would recede. The head nurse at that time is easy to talk to so right there I was able to breathe and found my body really had lost a considerable amount of weight.

I did tried to gain some weight I even bought some weight booster shakes used by body builders but it just made me sick because it has lactose and I am a lactose intolerant person thanks to my Asian heritage.

Now I have no clue if I will be able to gain weight anymore. Maybe if my Parathyroid would finally be controlled then I might see some changes. It should include the returning of my body's strength and of course the pain relief and that I have to trade and sacrifice for my appetite which I hope would get resolved as soon as I get my needed Parathyroidectomy.
