Hello!
You can call me J.R. and this will most likely be the only time I every post about myself. I really don’t like talking about myself, but it's hard to be involved in a community if you are nothing more than a shadow lurking at the edge of the light.
By day I am a corporate drone working for a megacorp. As a software engineer I spend my day staring at computers and attending the occasional meeting. Though I may gripe on occasion, just like almost everyone else, overall it's a good job. I get to work from home which grants me a lot of freedom and flexibility. Unfortunately the trade off is that I’m on call half the month.
I wish I could say I was a superhero by night, but really my nights aren’t that much different than my days. Once the rest of my family goes to sleep, I can typically be found in front of my computer working on any number of personal projects. I might be plying my trade modding games, playtesting random game alphas or writing my own apps. Alternatively I might be unleashing my creativity by writing an RPG adventure, short story / flash fiction, or simply reviewing a TV series, movie, or game I’ve recently played.
I have a handful of other hobbies as well, such as building armor for my dog (and people too) and working at gaming conventions, but life has been too hectic to properly dedicate time to those lately.
I’m not sure how I’ll use steemit at this point as I’m currently focused on preserving my old posts from the sunsetting narrative.org. Once I finish saving my old work, then I can hopefully start sharing new content. I expect I’ll simply continue to share reviews and fiction, but only time will tell.
If you want to see my old work, you have until the end of the year to view them on Narrative
Alternatively I am currently transferring some of my better posts to medium as they have a quick and easy import story function
And don't worry, once I get the hang of steemit I'll post here too.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
