Hey everyone, as most of you that follow me know I am a bit of a Nature nut/Homesteading Practitioner/Farmer etc, truly nothing beats been sustainable and able to grow your own food on your back door and in your own garden.
I have been growing these Tahitian Butternuts for months and this one is the largest. It totally looks like a pumpkin, but it is not, why then Craig is it in the shape of a pumpkin and not a butternut? Good question with a relatively simple explanation!
Normally Tahitian Butternuts grow in a vertical orientation, for some or other reason this amazing butternut grew in a horizontal fashion and never fell over. Instead of getting longer and thinner as they do, it got thicker and fatter, amazing right?
I am around 6.4 tall and have rather long fingers and big hands, this should give somewhat of an idea as to size. It is my Uncle's birthday on the 25th of Feb so we will be celebrating today. I gifted him all these vegetables it should be interesting to see what amazing meal they are able to make with them :).
On todays harvest I also picked some yellow Aubergines as well as what looks to be Carolina Reaper Chilli peppers, What looks to be? Well to be frank I am not too sure, they are as hot as reapers just look a little different, my big mistake was not labelling the seeds when I planted them. I guess I will just need to ask my mates in the know on facebook what they are!
Here a lovely pic of the yellow Aubergines and Either Reapers or Moruga Scorpions, whether reapers or not these chillis are still in the 'super hot' category and need to be handled with care, literally!
Nature the Incredible.
I trust you have an amazing weekend!
Be blessed.
Cheer$;)
