Street photography always gives us the opportunity to capture spontaneous moments as we pass by, urban landscapes, avenues, city attractions and people in this case. I have a pretty clear idea of the kind of photography I'm interested in and I think I'm somewhat close to it. I like photos that can express much more and that mean something to the eye, more feelings or emotions, actions and expressions.
Today I want to share with you some shots that I took on Avenida Corrientes and Avenida 9 de Julio in the autonomous city of Buenos Aires.
La fotografía de calle siempre nos brinda la oportunidad de capturar momentos espontáneos a medida de nuestros pasos, paisajes urbanos, avenidas, atractivos de la ciudad y personas en este caso. Tengo una idea bastante clara del tipo de fotografía que me interesa llegar y creo estar algo cerca de ello. Me gustan las fotos que puedan expresar mucho más y que signifiquen algo a la vista, más sentimientos o emociones, acciones y expresiones.
El día de hoy quiero compartirles algunas tomas que hice en la avenida corrientes y avenida 9 de Julio en la ciudad autónoma de Buenos Aires.
From the beginning I have been fascinated by the different types of editions, tones, shadows and how to transform an ordinary photo into something more outstanding so to speak.
I decided to take my 50mm lens and went out to do some exercises to try to get some results that were in my mind, capturing people walking along these avenues, some chatting and having some kind of gesticulations, people riding bicycles and some other details of the city but in Moody style.
Desde un principio me ha fascinado los distintos tipos de ediciones, tonos, sombras y como transformar una foto corriente en algo más resaltante por decirlo de alguna manera.
Decidí tomar mi lente 50mm y salí a hacer ejercicios para tratar de conseguir algunos resultados que estaban en mi mente, capturando personas transitando por estás avenidas, algunas charlando y teniendo algún tipo de gesticulaciones, personas paseando en bicicleta y algunos otros detalles de la ciudad pero en estilo Moody.
There are many variants for this style, however basically it is about underexposing the image in terms of lighting and tones in order to make the image more intimate and more expressive, leaving the tones very saturated and dulling them, looking to get in a way that the image can be seen as a scene from a movie, a cinematic style.
To this we can add modifications in the color grading where blue colors are used a lot but we can also play with different shades of orange or yellow, depending on the type of mood we want to obtain.
Existen muchas variantes para este estilo, sin embargo básicamente se trata de subexponer la imagen en cuanto a iluminación y tonos con el fin de hacer que la imagen sea algo más íntima y más expresiva, dejando de ser los tonos muy saturados y opacandolos, buscando conseguir de cierta forma que la imagen pueda apreciarse como una escena de una película, un estilo cinematográfico.
A esto podemos agregarle modificaciones en la graduación de colores donde se usa mucho los colores azules pero podemos jugar además con los diferentes tonos de naranja o amarillo, dependiendo del tipo de mood que queramos obtener.
The idea of this is to increase the contrast and accentuate the shadows, low lighting is ideal and then play with the tones we want to highlight by reducing the intensity of the colors.
As you can see I took some photos of people walking near the subway stations, a motorcycle, posters and people on bicycles, all of this taking an action on the part of the portraits and others not so much as those immovable objects.
La idea de esto es aumentar el contraste y acentuar las sombras, poca iluminación es lo ideal para después jugar con los tonos que queremos resaltar reduciendo la intensidad de los colores.
Cómo pueden observar tomé algunas fotos de personas caminando cerca de las estaciones del subterráneo, una motocicleta, carteles y personas en bicicleta, todo esto llevando una acción por parte de los retratos y otras no tanto como lo son esos objetos inamovibles.
I am happy with the results, although it seems to me that the type of lens I had was not enough. I think I need an 85mm prime lens to give more depth of field to the photos. This would give me very different results in my opinion.

Estoy contento con los resultados obtenidos, aunque me parece que no fue suficiente el tipo de lente que tenía. Creo necesitar un lente de focal fija 85mm para dar más profundidad de campo a las fotos. Esto me daría resultados muy diferentes a mi parecer.
