WINTER AT THE DAM...
Romania has all the landforms and beauties that many should be aware of. We have mountains, plains, hills, delta, sea and all this in a small country.
However, there are many Romanians who do not know of many hidden places in our country. Once again I feel blessed by my birthplaces.
15 kilometers from my village there is a wonderful dam that is not very large, but it is so clean and beautiful. Every time I want to relax and connect with nature I give a run here, it is the best balm for the soul.There are many places dear to me, but this is among my favorites.
So, the dam is called the Rausor Dam and it is a storage one. It was built in 1985 (the very year of my birth) and aims at water supply, electricity production and flood defence. It is surrounded by high mountains and forests and there is a place here where there is snow all year round.
Magical colors are every season, but in the winter in the distance you can see snow on the mountains and the contrast between the water and the sky is a special one.
I like to drink my coffee in nature, it is much tastier in my opinion and this fully relaunches me.
We have captured many sunrises and sunsets here and each time it is different, although it is the same landscape.
Many locals come here especially to take pictures, but also tourists for the attractions of the area. Not far from the dam is also a famous waterfall, beautiful mountain trails, but also a cottage and many caravans where people can stay. As wild animals we meet bears, deer, foxes and much more.
I promise to come back with pictures taken in the summer, but until then I hope I delighted you with the winter ones.
