That's a beautiful ending to the story.

I do know my gf's size, or I knew - she recently complained about not being S anymore in the Top, but M. She's been doing a lot of work-out, so I'm pretty sure that's part of the reason, although she only sees fat everywhere. We had a great talk about clothing and styles and self-esteem and upbringing and loving oneself this weekend, initiated by me talking about my conclusions about what Lily should wear and what not. Since she has a 14 year old daughter, it was very interesting to discuss that with her, and see her points on the topic. Thanks to having gone over this topic with you and others, I was able to explain myself to her in a way that she could comprehend my stance about it, the values behind it, and my thoughts. That was really cool.

Sort:

The size on the label has become largely meaningless and it depends on where you live. They have vanity sizing and in some places as many people get bigger, the sizes have got bigger with the same label. Then in other places where the people are generally small, they have labels that go the other way, making them "feel larger". When I was a medium (a long time ago) I could only squeeze into an XL in Japan :D

When it comes to "size" of the individual though, it is about what feels good for the person. Gym can make people larger or smaller, and both can feel good.

It is great that you are thinking about these things now though, because the world is getting more "complicated" when it comes to kids maturing and it seems to be happening faster physically, but going backwards mentally. There is an age gap of sorts in kids - if that makes sense. Maybe I will write an article about it :)

She works at a clothing company and models there as well - so it should be the same size. But I told her the same, the seamstresses might not have done their best work. To no avail, she felt bad :-D

The more articles about kids, the better! Still have so much to learn there :-D
