Photos of flowers
There's nothing like nature. I love nothing more than to immerse myself in nature and we are very lucky where we live here in Galway. We are surrounded by green fields, farms, rivers, streams and vegetation and there's always some of nature on display in one way or another. I don't always get the time to stop and take some photos but sometimes I do and here are a few of the flowers that I found along recent walk.
Let's start off with the Flora and in a little while towards the end of the post I will also introduce the fauna I saw on my walk in nature. As I say we are very lucky to live where we are; surrounded by nature and it's bounty.
The Gorse of Conamara
The yellow Gorse of Connemara is famous. Every year it grows wild across Connemara. It's a beautiful sight. However the Farmers don't like it, as it can invade their fields and turn it from Green pasture into thorny bushes. So what you often see is farmers burning the Gorse in Summer time. This is dangerous business though, as it can lead to massive forest fires which we have seen on more than one occasion in recent Summers here in Ireland.
The Fauna
We will close it out with some beautiful animals. We've got the woolly cute sheep and lambs, the freshly born little calves and they're mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters and last but not least my favorite of all the donkey.
