Discovering Mijas Pueblo in Spain's Andalucia part I

Mijas Pueblo

We holiday in Spain every year and there's lots of places we like to go.

We know the restaurants we like to go to and the villages we like to return to, but it's also good to discover new places and one recent discover has been Mijas Pueblo.

Nestled in the Andalusian mountains, it is a tranquil little haven.

I like this idea that they came up with to paint quotes onto the walls and I've also seen this in other Spanish villages.

It looks nice in my opinion.

Something else you'll notice about these little villages, is the really beautiful shops and crafts for sale.

You can get horse and cart around the village which is really cool.

As usual there was a cool Moorish castle as is the case with most mountainous villages in Spain.

Another shot of the castle.

About Mijas Pueblo

Mijas Pueblo is a gem. I love discovering gems and it's often through word of mouth. Our discovery of this charming white-washed village nestled in the mountains of southern Andalusia was no different.

Perched high above the Costa del Sol, it offers stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, which must be seen to be truly appreciated. It just so happens, one of my best friends stayed here last year and rented a villa. We had heard of Mijas Pueblo, but had never visited.

Its narrow, winding streets and traditional Andalusian architecture give it a timeless character quite similar to Frigilliana another beautiful mountain village we love to visit beside Nerja.

Thanks as always for stopping by everyone

Peace Out
