Indeed the holidays are almost here! Good choices you have made especially with gifting gift cards. Simplicity is a reasonable system to adopt when it comes to preparing for the holidays.

In my country, once it's September, the anxiety and planning begins BECAUSE we love to do things in excess. I love to splurge more on gifts but this year, I'll have to take the minimalist route regarding food and cooking. That zaps all the energy out of me and sometimes reduces the fun in celebrating. 😄

Hello @kemmyb. Doesn't it come around quickly each year? Or is it we notice that time has sped up it seems over the past few decades. Don't overspend during the holidays!

Once summer is over, our lives switch to Fall and the wonder of the season. It's how we handle it that creates the stress. Once I recognized this, my life began to change for the better.

Oh yes, you will see a difference when you reduce the amount of time spent buying, preparing, and serving food. Last year was the best ever Christmas in terms of my enjoyment.

I don't ever plan to return to those stressful days of old. I appreciate your kind compliment for my holiday dishes that are now, as I was explaining to someone else, on recipe cards waiting for other family members to pick up the mantle and cook their fool heads off! However the dishes turn out, I'll say, "great job, tastes wonderful." and keep on enjoying the holidays!
