Yes, @ginika. I learned from my parents, so in order for my children and grandchildren to practice living without excess, I have to show them the way. It's also just me and my husband since the children are now grown. But I have a large family who lives close. We don't travel during the holidays, so would meet up at my home.
I used to believe that more made one merrier. That was not the case. To be depressed and literally worn out from the holidays wasn't enjoyable for me. Also, as senior citizens, my spouse can't climb onto the ladder any longer. Too dangerous trying to create that perfect framed Christmas light look.
Tradition is the exchange of gifts during Christmas. The spirit of Christmas is more important.
Well, with my new simplistic lifestyle, my famous cornbread dressing, together with my German Chocolate Cake is now on recipe cards for whoever would like to try their hand at perfecting it!
Thanks so much for your visit and lovely words. I appreciate it and your support. Hope you have a wonderful holiday this year with your family.
Take care and have a good start to your week.
