Here are my week one hundred and one recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Damien Dempsey - Soft Rain

This week is all about story telling within a song, @hoosie shared a song by Men at Work front man Colin Hay called Are you lookin at me which made me think of some other similar songs that are more talking than singing in a sense, but are very powerful and impactful. As I shared some of these songs, the penny dropped and I realised that I knew what this week's post would be about.

Let's start things off with the big man from North Dublin, Damien Dempsey, who I would say is well worth checking out if you enjoy your music. He would not be huge internationally, but does have a big local following here in Ireland. Have a listen to this beaut of a song/story and let me know what you think:

Tom Barry - Derreighter (feat. Jon O'Connell, Adam Shapiro, Tara Howley, Luka Bloom & Conor Byrne)

Any time I think about a song that is spoken and well delivered, I think of my brother in law, who released his debut album in 2021. Criminally this one only has 30 views on Youtube, so I thought I would share it here and that may drive some more views, god knows it deserves it. Tom has a full time job, but wouldn't it be great if his music could become his full time job some day.

It is a gorgeous song, that starts with my nephew talking about his Grandad (my Dad's farm) and also finishes with him talking about the same thing. This song is a lament and nod of approval to my Dad and his simpler way of life and the value of this. No material goods, screens or distraction, just hard work, mugs of tae (not tea, tae!! that's how we pronounce it!) and the turf or peat of Conamara.

Sit back and give Tom a listen, you won't regret it, he is accompanied here by one of Ireland's best Flute players Conor Byrne and Luka Bloom an Irish musical legend, as well as Jon O'Connell, Adam Shapiro and Tara Howley. Do check out some of his other songs on Youtube too.

Luke Kelly - Raglan Road

This one is less spoken and moreso sung by the irreplaceable and impeccable Luke Kelly. It feels like a good fit here though, so it gets the nod. It is up there with some of my favourite Irish songs/poems of all time, have a listen and I will include the lyrics so that you can read along as Luke sings.

Did Luke write it? ~ He did not, it was a gift bestowed upon him from his friend and drinking buddy Patrick Kavanagh a celebrated Irish Poet.

On Raglan Road on an autumn day I saw her first and knew
That her dark hair would weave a snare that I might one day rue;
I saw the danger, yet I passed along the enchanted way,
And I said, let grief be a fallen leaf at the dawning of the day.
On Grafton Street in November we tripped lightly along the ledge
Of the deep ravine where can be seen the worth of passion's pledge,
The Queen of Hearts still making tarts and I not making hay
Oh I loved too much and by such by such is happiness thrown away.
I gave her gifts of the mind I gave her the secret sign that's known
To the artists who have known the true gods of sound and stone
And word and tint without stint for I gave her poems to say.
With her own name there and her own dark hair like clouds over fields of May
On a quiet street where old ghosts meet I see her walking now
Away from me so hurriedly my reason must allow
That I had loved not as I should a creature made of clay
When the angel woos the clay he'd lose his wings at the dawn of day.

Here is another of Patrick's poems for anyone who may like poetry among you, this is another of my favourites:
Inniskeen Road: July Evening

The bicycles go by in twos and threes -
There's a dance in Billy Brennan's barn to-night,
And there's the half-talk code of mysteries
And the wink-and-elbow language of delight.
Half-past eight and there is not a spot
Upon a mile of road, no shadow thrown
That might turn out a man or woman, not
A footfall tapping secrecies of stone.
I have what every poet hates in spite
Of all the solemn talk of contemplation.
Oh, Alexander Selkirk knew the plight
Of being king and government and nation.
A road, a mile of kingdom, I am king
Of banks and stones and every blooming thing.

BONUS SONG ~ Liam Clancy - The Parting Glass

This one is another favourite of mine and although, I don't want to think too much about the day I die, I reckon this one will be played at my graveside before they say goodbye. Such a beautiful and meaningful song. Mind yourselves folks and be good to one another. Life is short, but your legacy can be lasting.

Three Tune Tuesday

Week 100 and has come and gone and that really did feel like a milestone, those even numbers have that sort of power I guess. Well, we have another milestone this week, and that is a new record for the number of unique entries, we hit 40 this week! Unreal stuff folks.

Thank you to every one of you that makes Three Tune Tuesday what it is and a special thanks to the nine Three Tune Tuesday sponsors, you are all legends! Onwards we go.

Also, a special thanks this week to @hoosie who inspired this week's post, we got chatting in the comments on his week 100 entry and I mentioned some great story telling songs, and they will be my own theme this week, but as always you guys can feel free to choose your own.

That's right, it's Tuesday folks and for our merry little band of ladies and lads, that means sharing tunes, good vibes and engagement. As another week disappears in the rearview mirror, we have loads of engagement and tunes flying around on Three Tune Tuesday and sure isn't that bloody fantastic! I hope you're ready to share three tunes from wherever you find yourself on this magical spinning lump of rock that we all call home and sure you might even sing us a tune if we're lucky?

It's a time of the week when lovers of music, tunes and craic bring their blockchain community three of their finest and brightest tunes to share and celebrate, so let's roll on and let the tunes flow free.

This is my 101st week waxing lyrical for Three Tune Tuesday and we are still going strong.

It started off with me just sharing tunes into what seemed like a void, but little by little others joined and now I'm thrilled that we have a little corner of Hive where we come and share our tunes every Tuesday, and long may it continue. I almost stopped posting the songs and thoughts a few times, but I stuck with it and now interestingly it is my favorite thing about Hive. I love music and now I have a network of folks around the world who love music too and we share our tunes and catch up with each others tunes and discuss them each week. We get Pop, Metal, Rock, Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Reggae, Bippy bappidy Flange Hop. Ok I made that one up, but you get the idea, we are all learning about new artists, bands, back stories and sure isn't it just mighty!

Something that excites me the most is that we even get musicians sharing their covers of famous songs and even their own songs from time to time here on #ThreeTuneTuesday, which is a real favorite of mine, as that takes talent, time and dedication.

We are adding New posters and retaining our core of regulars here on #TTT which is fantastic. Let's keep it growing. Weekly, I try to find four to six hours to listen to all of the fantastic music shared from like-minded folk from around the globe and interact with their posts. This has led me to genres I don't know well and to some amazing new bands and artists and has even introduced me to some musical instruments I did not know existed. It also allows me to upvote smaller accounts and find some really interesting people from all over the world, which is heartening.

I hope you enjoy the tunes - be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below and above all else, please enjoy the rest of your Tuesday - smile at a stranger, rub a dog, be a nice human to someone who was not expecting it - peace out.

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

HBI contest - win 10HBI

Share your Three Tune Tuesday songs below or create a post with #ttt or #threetunetuesday and mention me so I can find the post.

I'll pick the three songs I enjoyed the most each week as the winner and transfer 1 share of HBI to the winner when this post pays out 7 days from now, but wait there's more...

Three Tune Tuesday Sponsors

My old pal and brother from another mother @blanchy started a trend and now also commits a share of HBI each week and so have seven other Three Tune legends @blackdaisyft @hannes-stoffel @tengolotodo @inthenow @wwwiebe @grindan @jasperdick and @dbooster so now the winner will receive ten shares of HBI, not too shabby at all folks.

Thanks a million to our sponsors above once again.

Best of luck!

Sin é, That's all folks, thanks for stopping by.

That's it for another week. Those are your three songs for week one hundred. Let me know what you think - good, bad or indifferent? Did you like them all or just one or two?

Also, as I said before, I love getting good steers for new tunes, so please tell me about the latest and greatest from your playlist below and I'll be sure to check em out.

The YouTube videos shared are not owned by me and I am simply sharing great music with the community here on Hive

Thanks as always for stopping by everyone.

Peace Out

Nice songs never heard them before. good luck to all for this week!

Thanks for listening

Your welcome!

What genre is this?
its this first of me hearing something like it.....
They're just talking with the music playing in the background....

Your brother-in-law's voice is rather calming and the flute was a nice touch, seems like a poems reading.... 🙂

Irish folk music as @rt395 rightly says

Irish folk tunes? All 3 had their good points, but the last tune, Raglan Road, is almost like something in my dna, like returning home.

Glad you liked them!! Raglan road is very special alright 👌

I really like the combination of poetry and music - really, that's what the origins of sung music really is. It's almost a lost art, really, the ability to tell a story in a few minutes of song. And I definitely love the Irish sounds of Derreighter.

I really like the combination of poetry and music

Ya me too, it really works doesn't it..

And I definitely love the Irish sounds of Derreighter.

Excellent, delighted to hear you single this one out for praise.

I had a post and everything :(

But between fluffing load-shedding, stupid dodgy laptops and work I just couldn't get it in on time. I even checked today to see if it was still Tuesday anywhere in the world so I could jump in at the last minute :D

Never mind... always next week and I can muddle along and enjoy the music on the latest #ttt releases. So it's a win anyway.

Happy belated #ttt! Keep 'em comin'!

Fluffing is becoming part of the Hive parlance thanks to @tengolotodo hasn't it!

It doesn't always have to be published on Tuesdays you know, ideally yes, but plenty of folks post occasionally on a Wednesday or Thursday, no bother at all. You'll know for again.

You'll just have to be a listener for this week. Did ya get out and meet a few people this week? Hopefully you did 👌

Yep! I have @tengolotodo to thank for slowing down the flow of fuck words and a mighty fine job he did!

I use it all over Hive in honor of his fluffing awesomeness now :D

I missed it this week, mostly. Work intervened. As it must at times. And will be doing a bit more for now. I have a plan. Kinda.

Also solo parenting time so less time right now even. But I think I bookmarked it to return to, as usual. Hope so.

And then another week flies by and it's #ttt tomorrow again!

It's always on my radar though. And good to know one can participate on others days as well. Thanks for that. :)

Happy Monday. Have a super good start to the week! 💥

hehe thank you @nickydee yes I find it carries more weight than fuck, here in Scotland every fluffer fucks and fluff seems to be a bit more flowery!

Dude. It just works! :)

Thanks for that!

Here's a fluffing fluffy flower for ya. 🌸

hehe why thank you 😎

Hey. While I have your attention.

Does the current value of Hive affect the amount of HP when you power up or is the ratio set at a permanent rate, please?

Hive is Hive and HP is Hive Power, your Hive Power is the same amount of Hive irrespective of the actual dollar price of Hive.

Ten Hive powered up when the value is 20c say and Ten Hive powered up when the price is 40c is still 10 HP although the dollar value will be 2 dollars and 4 dollars, the HP is still 10.

The only time the dollar amount affects anything is when you take Hive off chain. On Hive it does not matter what the value is, 1 Hive is 1 Hive, where there is a difference is in the Hive Backed Dollar. So for example when we have a love $ value of Hive, then we can get more Hive when we swap our HBD...

Does that help?

Yes that helps a ton.

Thank you!

People get obsessed with crypto prices and Hive is no different.

The bottom line is to take Hive off chain if you need it when the dollar value is high.

When the dollar value is low, that is the time to stake as much liquid Hive into Hive Power as you can, because it won't always be low.

Anyway, you know where to find me, have a cracking well fluffing week, whatever the fluff it entails 😁

hehe nothing like a good fluff!

Hey. About to work on some design stuff and I often listen to music when I do that.

You know what would help a busy working human a lot?!

If a collab list was created on Spotify each week and #ttt participants could add the tracks from their posts there as well. Especially for those of us with dodgy internet speeds!

Each participant could also embed the Spotify list for rhe week in their entries? Double exposure and low data / better connectivity for unhindered listening enjoyment!

Please? Maybe? :D

I'm following the whole list of all the #ttts on Spotify. But this may work better for ongoing engagement and a profile could be created listing all the #ttts as weekly entries as well so...

Just some thoughts. Must work now and my internet not stable enough for that and youtube videos at the same time :(

I'll be back tomorrow hopefully
