Hive Basic Income Winner for ThreeTuneTuesday #37

in Music4 years ago (edited)

And the winner is....

Ok, firstly here's a quick update for all the newbies. Every Tuesday I pick three songs, sometimes all three from the same artist, sometimes three tunes from a particular genre, other times three songs from a certain country - you get the idea. I've always asked others to get involved and over the past few weeks, that is exactly what's happened and we now have some ThreeTune regulars which is only mighty!

Here is a link to last week's post - at the end I said that I would pick someone who shared some decent tunes and give them a share in Hive basic income courtesy of me. Once again, we had some top class entries and new songs for our collective ears, which is class.

Here is this week's as well, sure I may as well give it a shamless plug!

Huge thanks to the usual suspects @blanchy, @blackdaisyft, @sagesigma, @cmplxty and @celticheartbeat who are now regulars here at ThreeTuneTuesday. I'm delighted to see that we have three new recruits this week in @mayorkeys, @por500bolos and @trucklife-family, meaning it is harder to catch up on all of the tunes through the week, which is the best complaint ever. I'm delighted more of you are getting involved and I am learning about so much new music, as well as remembering old classics. If you get a chance, click into #ttt or #threetuneteusday and support each too and expand those musical horizons for your ears.

Hive Basic Income

Again for the benefit of new readers, are you new to Hive? Are you struggling to get support on those first posts of yours? Have you come back to Hive recently and are struggling in a similar fashion? If so, I would advise you to keep an eye out for competitions that offer you Hive Basic Income shares. These give you guaranteed upvotes from @steembasicincome, @sbi1, @sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, @sbi6, @sbi7, @sbi8, @sbi9 etc and the more shares that you have the higher their upvotes. Simples...

It is a win win situation too for the person sharing the shares, as the person sharing them also gets a share of HBI for each one they share with someone else - what's not to like about this model. You get rewarded for being kind to someone else, in fact it is like a microcosm of what the Hive blockchain actually is from a curation perspective too.

The Tunes

Yep, I'm like a broken record at this stage, but sure, I don't give a feck, it's true, the tunes are getting better by the week.

@mayorkeys starts us off by throwing three new tunes our way (well new for me anyway), which I really enjoyed, starting off with Cobhams Asuquo on the piano and progressing through two nice chilled Reggae tunes from Lucky dube and Make fashek. This is what ThreeTuneTueaday is all about, getting new tunes shared from the 4 corners of our spinning blue and green cosmic football. Well to the crew man, hopefully you'll be back with more for us next week.

@blanchy is back with another three belters this week, harking back to the 1990s. As blanchy says the pixies are "known to be the inventors of grunge music and paved the way for bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam". Loving the Tame video, I had never seen the music video before, tis off the wall like, but it works. Our pal from over the water in Scotland @celticheartbeat is back again this week and he is performing three Bob Dylan songs for us, including one of my all time Dylan favourites It's all over now Baby Blue. The performance is top notch again, and we get to learn stuff about Dylan as we go - you might think 14 minutes is a bit long, but I promise that it flies by.

@sagesigma weighed in with three tunes that are obscure but very good and the first one was entirely new to me. He has real grá (Irish for love) for the golden oldies and brings us three again this week to pour gently into our ears. @blackdaisyft has been a busy bee this week, not only sharing some class tunes by Imagine Dragons, who I had heard of, but never really listened to. I changed that when I listened to these three from @blackdaisyft and I am glad I did, Enemy which I share below has a real Greatest Showman vibe to it and I really enjoyed listening to this, along with the other two tunes, with Monday reminding me of Irish band Republic of Loose a little bit. Actually, I've just changed my mind and will share Monday instead below.

This week I was delighted that @trucklife-family was able to join us and share three songs from Canadian Esmerine. I had never heard of them and they are instrumental only (at least in these three songs), which I always find impressive. I guess you would call this experimental music, though in ways they defy labels or genres and @trucklife-family sums it up well with "It is hard to describe what genre of music that they play, to me they have their own genre, a mix of classical, post rock, experimental folk, punk and Turkish. I close my eyes and they take me on a journey into the deepest parts of myself and of the universe. The sounds they create, stir up so much emotion in me." Try to find a few minutes to listen to the songs if you can, and ideally close your eyes and see where the songs take you and what they invoke in your own mind.

Alt rock on the dial this week with @cmplxty and three quality tunes, sure what else did you expect. Colorado from Milky Chance is an absolute banger and one to horse the volume up while out cruising in the motor vehicle! Great shout with Modest Mouse as well, these guys have some cracking tunes and are definitely under rated in my opinion. Which leaves us with debutant here at ThreeTuneTuesday @por500bolos, who contributed an excellent introspection and discussion about music that has profoundly moved him over the years. His list is short and included Ukrainian street pianist Kyrylo Kostukovsky who I must admit blew me away. As if that was not enough he also included a link to our very own @mipiano who also made his short list. Her incredible 5 minute 28 second 3Speak video is a must watch.

@por500bolos, you are this week's winner, and I have included a special bonus share for @mipiano also for her fantastic composition.

Grab your headphones - Here is a flavour of this week's tunes.

COBHAMS ASUQUO - Ordinary People from @mayorkeys

The Pixies - Hey from @blanchy

Esmerine - Sprout @trucklife-family

Milky Chance - Colorado from @cmplxty

Kyrylo Kostukovsky - unknown from @por500bolos

Imagine Dragons - Enemy from @blackdaisyft

The Jam - Liza Radley @sagesigma

CelticHeartBeat - "Bob Dylan Special - Rambling Gambling Willie - Love Minus Zero - Baby Blue" from @celticheartbeat

That's awesome! It's expanding and I love that. When music gets expanded like this, it makes it a lot of fun to check out everyone's posts that I can.

Cool to see some different things and more people getting into it. I need to check out Por's and Mipiano's post here, really interested in the totally different flavor of music they present!

Definitely man, it's pretty sweet to have more people getting involved and hearing all these tunes is mighty 👍

Sweet idea! How do we submit songs? Can I submit my own music and/or some of my indie musician friends have made? Would love to share all that with you! 👍 P.s I also love the pixies

Yes that would be most welcome! I love it when people share their own tunes or tunes they have direct connection to.

The jist is just share three songs - can be your favourite band, 3 songs from one genre/country/festival, 3 songs you sing yourself, 3 songs that your indie friends play..... You get the idea 🤟🎼

Looking forward to hearing your three tunes

AWESOME! Each week #ttt is expanding and growing and it's so good to be a part of it and see it live 😍. Just when I thought for the first time I was able to catch up on everyone's posts I find out that I actually missed 3 of them 🙈🙈🙈 I shall correct this in a moment and in the meantime give an update to the spotify playlist for week 37 😁

(I'll edit this comment afterwards)

EDIT: wowo I updated the spotify playlist for Three Tune Tuesday #37.

@por500bolos so well deserved 👏👏👏👏 sadly I coudn't find this songs to add to the playlist because they were so unique! I'll try to find a way to leave a note or something in the short description.

Ya I'm delighted to see the number of people taking part growing, meaning more tunes for us all to check out 🎶

Thanks again for Spotify playlist idea and fair play to you for taking the time to listen to everyone else's offerings and engaging with your genuine comments.

For sure! For week 37 we have a total of 24 songs (-3 I coudn't find). That's an impressive total of 1h32min of awesome tunes shared 😍 And more keep joining! Can't wait to see how much song we get on the next one 😊

😁😁😁😁😁

Yes, it's brilliant to see it taking off, isn’t it! I must say that it's only taking off because of the fantastic engagement from the regulars 👌

Am glad my name is mentioned here and I will come out stronger for the new week
