Here are my week one hundred and thirty four recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Bob Dylan - Rainy Day Woman

Will this fella needs No introduction. After doing a couple of recent Three Tune Tuesday posts on Shane McGowan, an accomplished and legendary songwriter, I thought to myself what other accomplished and ledgendary songwriter could I do a post on? Bob Dylan came out top of that list.

Bob has so many songs that I could do months of Three Tune Tuesday posts on him alone, so this week I'll concentrate on his epic 1966 album Blonde on Blonde.

This was Dylan's seventh studio album and this is the first track from it. Everybody must get stoned. Indeed.

Bob Dylan - Visions of Johanna

For me this song gives any of the aforementioned Shane McGowan's songs a great run for their money. It's a masterpiece. Read along while you listen if you are not familiar with the song. Dylan was a perfectionist and this song personifies this quest for the elusive perfection he sought.

Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet?
We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it
And Louise holds a handful of rain, temptin' you to defy it
Lights flicker from the opposite loft
In this room the heat pipes just cough
The country music station plays soft
But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off
Just Louise and her lover so entwined
And these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind

In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain
And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train
We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight
Ask himself if it's him or them that's insane
Louise, she's all right, she's just near
She's delicate and seems like the mirror
But she just makes it all too concise and too clear
That Johanna's not here
The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face
Where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place

Now, little boy lost, he takes himself so seriously
He brags of his misery, he likes to live dangerously
And when bringing her name up
He speaks of a farewell kiss to me
He's sure got a lotta gall to be so useless and all
Muttering small talk at the wall while I'm in the hall
How can I explain?
It's so hard to get on
And these visions of Johanna, they kept me up past the dawn

Inside the museums, infinity goes up on trial
Voices echo this is what salvation must be like after a while
But Mona Lisa musta had the highway blues
You can tell by the way she smiles
See the primitive wallflower freeze
When the jelly-faced women all sneeze
Hear the one with the mustache say, "Jeez, I can't find my knees"
Oh, jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule
But these visions of Johanna, they make it all seem so cruel

The peddler now speaks to the countess who's pretending to care for him
Sayin', "Name me someone that's not a parasite and I'll go out and say a prayer for him"
But like Louise always says
"Ya can't look at much, can ya man?"
As she, herself, prepares for him
And Madonna, she still has not showed
We see this empty cage now corrode
Where her cape of the stage once had flowed
The fiddler, he now steps to the road
He writes ev'rything's been returned which was owed
On the back of the fish truck that loads
While my conscience explodes
The harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain
And these visions of Johanna are now all that remain

Bob Dylan - I Want You

There were plenty of contenders for a song to finish out this week trio of tunes. In the end I narrowed it down to two options. Those were Just Like a Woman and I Want You. In the end I opted for the latter, a song that I've always enjoyed. I hope you enjoy it too.

This song paints a tapestry of desire and longing without any hint of cheapness. It is presented with a lightness of heart but also sincerity and joy. It is a great Dylan song in large shed full of songs that Dylan has penned over the many decades, seven in total I believe.

Three Tune Tuesday

That's right, it's Tuesday folks and for our merry little band of ladies and lads, that means sharing tunes, good vibes and engagement. As another week disappears in the rearview mirror, we have loads of engagement and tunes flying around on Three Tune Tuesday and sure isn't that bloody fantastic! I hope you're ready to share three tunes from wherever you find yourself on this magical spinning lump of rock that we all call home and sure you might even sing us a tune if we're lucky?

It's a time of the week when lovers of music, tunes and craic bring their blockchain community three of their finest and brightest tunes to share and celebrate, so let's roll on and let the tunes flow free.

This is my 134th week waxing lyrical for Three Tune Tuesday and we are still going strong.

It started off with me just sharing tunes into what seemed like a void, but little by little others joined and now I'm thrilled that we have a little corner of Hive where we come and share our tunes every Tuesday, and long may it continue. I almost stopped posting the songs and thoughts a few times, but I stuck with it and now interestingly it is my favorite thing about Hive. I love music and now I have a network of folks around the world who love music too and we share our tunes and catch up with each others tunes and discuss them each week. We get Pop, Metal, Rock, Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Reggae, Bippy bappidy Flange Hop. Ok I made that one up, but you get the idea, we are all learning about new artists, bands, back stories and sure isn't it just mighty!

Something that excites me the most is that we even get musicians sharing their covers of famous songs and even their own songs from time to time here on #ThreeTuneTuesday, which is a real favorite of mine, as that takes talent, time and dedication.

We are adding New posters and retaining our core of regulars here on #TTT which is fantastic. Let's keep it growing. Weekly, I try to find four to six hours to listen to all of the fantastic music shared from like-minded folk from around the globe and interact with their posts. This has led me to genres I don't know well and to some amazing new bands and artists and has even introduced me to some musical instruments I did not know existed. It also allows me to upvote smaller accounts and find some really interesting people from all over the world, which is heartening.

I hope you enjoy the tunes - be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below and above all else, please enjoy the rest of your Tuesday - smile at a stranger, rub a dog, be a nice human to someone who was not expecting it - peace out.

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

Merry Christmas!
Dylan was some boy and great tunes you shared today.

Thanks man, ya some word Smith! Insane how many class songs he's written like..

"Don't think twice, it's alright" by Bob Dylan might be one of my favorite songs ever... When you're in a certain mood, you need some Bob Dylan I think. I liked your picks from him 😁

'john wesley harding' and 'I want you' are my number-ones.
'dont think twice'' is great too!

Those are awesome picks for sure 😁 !PIZZA

Great choices man 👌🏻

Ah yes what a song, also one of my favourites 👌🏻

Pure genius song... These ones I picked are all from Blonde on Blonde. I'm going through a Dylan stage and listening to full albums for a few weeks and then moving onto another. So much music to rediscover 🎵🎶🎵

He was so amazing. If you don't care for his delivery, there was an album called chimes of freedom where many famous people covered his songs. It's good stuff.

I must check that out man, thanks for steer 🛞

In addition to being a wonderful musician, he is a poet, a great writer, a bohemian... Dylan won the Nobel Prize for a reason. Great selection, Happy Holidays my friend!

Merry Christmas for you too ☘️
'Everyone must get stoned' (c) Dylan 😜

Te he he, thanks dude!

Well said my friend, well said, a genius among gentlemen

The magic of folk music is everyone can sing along and that's how I feel when I hear Bob Dylan's songs. Not only do I want to sing along, but I also want to pick up my guitar and play a few chords. As a little kid my dad would tell me:

"There are people who try to make music and then there are just geniuses. Among them Bob Dylan is the lyric genius for generations to come."

He was right too many times.

Same here, I've picked the auld guitar up a few times lately thanks to Bob.

Yay! 🤗
