Seeing flowers, rivers, mountains, and plants has a calming effect on me. I may feel nervous or overwhelmed by a situation like the one I am experiencing at home, having to take care of my mother who has just had surgery and my grandmother, but if I observe nature for a while, even in photos, it relaxes me and makes me breathe deeply for a few seconds.
I don't know if other people feel the same way, I hope I'm not the only one. I realised this recently, maybe because as the years go by I value simple things more, I give more importance to nature, or simply because I have become more aware and knowledgeable.
The photos I am sharing today are from my visit to a nature reserve. there are exotic flowers that I am going to describe to you. The red one with green tips is called or is known as the bird of paradise, and I think the name suits it well because it looks like a little bird from a distance. It is native to South and Central America and is found in warm, humid environments such as tropical rainforests and, if I am not mistaken, it is the typical flower of Bolivia. This flower is a favourite of one of my cousins, who always buys it to decorate her house. I think it's pretty, but in nature as such.

Ver flores, ríos, montañas y plantas tiene un efecto calmante para mí, puede que me sienta nerviosa o abrumada por alguna situación como la que estoy viviendo en casa al tener que cuidar a mi mamá recién operada y a mi abuela, pero si observo un rato la naturaleza incluso en fotos eso me relaja y me lleva a respirar profundo por algunos segundos.
No sé si a otras personas les sucede lo mismo, espero no ser la única. De eso me di cuenta hace poco, puede ser porque con el pasar de los años valoro más las cosas sencillas, le doy más importancia a la naturaleza o simplemente porque me he vuelto más consciente y sabía
Las fotos que hoy comparto son de mi visita a una reserva natural, hay flores exóticas que se las voy a describir, la que es roja de puntas verdes se llama o es conocida como ave del paraíso y creo que le va bien el nombre porque parece un pajarito a lo lejos, es originaria de América del Sur y central y se encuentra en ambientes cálidos y húmedos como selvas tropicales y si no me equivoco es la flor típica de Bolivia, esta flor es la favorita de una de mis primas que siempre la compra para decorar su casa, a mí me parece bonita pero en la naturaleza como tal.
La segunda flor es la rosada que parece un ramo de alguna fruta, esta la he visto, pero no sabía su nombre ni su origen por lo que investigué y se llama de forma popular Bastón del Emperador curiosamente ahora si le veo sentido a su forma, es elegante y proviene del sudeste asiático, específicamente de Malasia o Indonesia, por lo visto viajó lejos para llegar a Venezuela. Simboliza la nobleza y la fuerza, qué hermoso significado.
Y por último está la cola de gato o moco de pavo, su nombre popular también se le asemeja, esta flor es muy agradable al tacto porque es aterciopelada y gruesa da la sensación de ser una cola de gato o más bien de mono, su color es rojo intenso y también magenta, al crecer cuelga y se debe ser espectacular en macetas altas y en el interior de las casas.

The second flower is the pink one that looks like a bunch of fruit. I've seen it before, but I didn't know its name or origin, so I looked it up and found out that it's commonly called the Emperor's Staff. Interestingly, now I can see the meaning in its shape. It is elegant and comes from Southeast Asia, specifically Malaysia or Indonesia. Apparently, it travelled far to reach Venezuela. It symbolises nobility and strength, what a beautiful meaning.
And finally, there is the cat's tail or turkey snot, its popular name also resembles it. This flower is very pleasant to the touch because it is velvety and thick, giving the sensation of being a cat's tail or rather a monkey's tail. Its colour is intense red and also magenta. As it grows, it hangs down and must be spectacular in tall pots and inside houses.
