Back to Routine – 20,000 Steps and a Slice of Everyday Life

20,838 steps. That’s how much I walked yesterday. And even though my legs reminded me of their existence by the evening, my heart felt light. Because it was the kind of day that finally made me feel like I’m getting back into my routine. The illness hasn’t completely let go yet – a few more days of medication are still ahead – but I’m back to being active, functioning, and handling the family whirlwind in full force.

The day started with a quick trip to Opatowice. There were a few urgent things to take care of in the garden – little tasks that wouldn’t wait and certainly wouldn’t do themselves. The weather? Classic: sun, rain, sun, wind, rain. But I’ve learned by now to carry everything in my backpack – from a rain poncho to sunglasses.

After Opatowice, I made a quick stop at the market – veggies, fruit, and some homemade goodies that always taste best when fresh from local hands. Then came time to pick up the boys from preschool and school. I thought the day’s running around was done – but then I remembered Sara’s parent-teacher meeting.

And off I went again. A quick meal, a glance at the clock, and a sprint to school. Luckily, I made it – though I won’t lie, my pace could’ve rivaled a marathoner’s. The meeting? Quite pleasant. Lots of laughter over stories from the May school trip to Szklarska Poręba – funny in hindsight, though back then, our chaperones, Ms. Ania and the rest of the team, had their hands full with our group of teens. I wrote more about that in yesterday’s post over on the Lady of Hive community, where I regularly share my everyday stories – always honest, and often with a wink.

After the meeting – a quick dash through the rain for some shopping (because of course the weather wouldn’t give me a break), and then finally home. And there, the evening routine began: dinner, baths, backpacks, outfits for the next day… you know, the usual home marathon. But all in all – it was a good day. Full of ordinary tasks that, in their own way, bring peace.

And you know what? Those 20,838 steps aren’t just a number on my app. They’re proof that I’m coming back. That I’m on my feet again – both literally and figuratively.

So how was your day? Who else got rained on yesterday and squinted at the sun a minute later?

Powrót do rutyny – 20 tysięcy kroków i garść codzienności

Potem dzieciaki – odbiór chłopaków z przedszkola i szkoły.

Zebranie? Całkiem miłe. Sporo śmiechu z opowieści o majowej wycieczce do Szklarskiej Poręby – z perspektywy czasu zabawnych, ale wtedy nasi opiekunowie, Pani Ania i reszta ekipy, mieli ręce pełne roboty i sporo stresu z naszą młodzieżą.

Thank you so much for your kind words!
Yes, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster, but getting back into the rhythm – even a wobbly one – already feels like a small victory.
Every step (even the sore ones!) is a reminder that I’m still moving forward.

I'm really glad to hear that you're feeling better, and getting back into your whirlwind flow, my friend, and that your day was a nice one. Your juggling skills are superb! Have a sweet Saturday! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Thank you so much, my friend!
Your words always bring a smile to my face.
I'm doing my best to keep all the balls in the air — some days it’s graceful, some days... well, let’s call it “creative juggling”!
Wishing you a joyful and peaceful weekend too!

Of course, you're always very welcome, and I'm truly grateful to hear that. I feel you on that, as I also tend to juggle a lot as well, both online (mostly Hive) and off, and yeah, it can certainly go awry from time to time. Many thanks, my friend, I appreciate that. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
