They must not be all that happy with their jobs, when I was working, I couldn't wait to go to work, I was basically on-call 24/7 outside of work hours; even on any vacation I took, work was a priority.
2 of my coworkers are related to the doc; one his mom who is in her mid 70's and really wants to retire, but won't let go. The other is his sister in law and is just 'helping out', so there is no real incentive there for them.
The one coworker who is always on time and does a good job has been on vacation for 2 weeks; she will be back next week, but the thing about her is that she was just hired a couple of months ago, and yet took off. I can't imagine seeking a job and telling my potential new boss, by the way, I need two weeks off. Even so, at least she is on time and does good work.
The last one has so much drama in her personal life. There is a weekly crisis and whereas I get it that life happens, it just seems extensive. Add that to the fact that she's always late (30-60 minutes per shift) and always has an excuse as to why she's late.... well it's just disheartening.
I do love my job, but not when I have to multi task using both hands and both feet! Retirement can't come soon enough at this rate!
