When the Police Steal Stolen Items

I can't drive due to my eye condition and sometimes I joke that's a good thing because I don't have to spend a bunch of money on fuel, insurance and maintenance. I ride public transportation and if someone steals a bus that's the city or county's problem and not mine.

Sometimes I do wish I had a car that I could drive but then I see stories like this. A high ranking member of the police takes a stolen license plate from evidence storage that was supposed to be destroyed and uses it allegedly during undercover work while getting lots of fines that are sent to the victim of the theft.
