A Quiet Sunday……..My Actifit Report Card: August 2 2026

in Actifit6 hours ago (edited)

With the kids in Hungary 🇭🇺 with baby Olivia, it was a quiet morning. It’s 9 hours ahead of our time zone so it was heading towards late afternoon/early evening for them. I’m sure with jet lag and a baby who doesn’t understand jet lag, they were probably trying to catch up on sleep missed from their flight.

This first picture is of granddog Phoenix, sleepy this morning as we were getting ready for church.

Church was great as usual and in no time, we were back home. Phoenix was ready to play!

I did some laundry and some computer stuff while all critters in the house napped. 😴

I then put some chicken in the toaster oven to cook. Once that was done, I got to thinking on the multitudes of blackberries outside. So @silvertop went with and was in charge of Phoenix while I braved the prickly vines! I gathered what I thought I’d need to make a sort of a pie. Not any ordinary pie, but a special one. I unfortunately didn’t take pics but here’s what I did. I took an Ole brand carb balance flour tortilla. I sprayed a pie dish with olive oil and laid it in. I took a 1/4 cup of keto flour, stevia for baking and cinnamon with a touch of cloves. I had one big apple I peeled and sliced into thin slices. I sprinkled the flour/stevia/ spice mixture. Then I layered the apple slices; added more flour mixture and more apples. Once out of apples, I dumped my freshly picked blackberries on top; sprinkled the balance of the mixture and added a couple small pats of butter. Then covered that with a second tortilla. At this point, I was curious about the nutritional value. I listed all the ingredients and ChatGPT came up with this analysis:

Nutrient

Whole Pie

Calories

545 calories

Protein

14 g

Carbohydrates

63 g

Fiber

36–38 g

Net Carbs

25–27 g

Fat

31 g

Per serving

If you cut it into:

  • 4 slices: about 136 calories each
  • 6 slices: about 91 calories each
  • 8 slices: about 68 calories each

I did good! Dessert for tonight!

August is here and about this time last year, we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of granddaughter baby Olivia. I can’t show any pics of her in keeping with dad’s wishes. I can show other photos of things from last August near their home. Enjoy!

Now some things this August near our home.

Looks a bit like fall don’t ya think?

One without a shell…….

…..and one with a shell!

Something sort of soft…….

…..and something not!

The day is winding down and so am I. That’s gonna be it for me. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

BSB 1Peter 5:1-4

As a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings, and a partaker of the glory to be revealed, I appeal to the elders among you: Be shepherds of God’s flock that is among you, watching over them not out of compulsion, but because it is God’s will; not out of greed, but out of eagerness; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

🙏🌹

Hey, that's what I made for dinner too. A whole chicken rubbed with some spice and hot air-roasted for an hour. Served on brown rice.
A cool enough day to use the toaster oven.
