Yeah-I know what you’re thinking……..looks a bit like fall! I only somewhat wish! Fall IS my favorite time of year! However, this leaf and quite a few others are already falling from the trees. This happens every summer and gets my hopes up that fall is around the corner!
The day began with church with awesome worship and an awesome sermon! We are in first Peter for the summer. It’s been an interesting journey thus far.
After church, we came home and did a few things around the house. One of those things required @silvertop to put together the anniversary gift he got me.
As a kid, we used to go to North Carolina for the summer to my grandparents home. They had a full sized rocking chair like this. It was my grandpa’s however there was a smaller one without arms that I must have rocked around the world twice in. I’ve wanted one for ages and now I have one!
I’ve got a set of cushions and a throw on the way for it. I’m sure I’ll spend many an hour rocking and reading in it! 😁
We spent a little time outside in the sunshine today. Temperatures are mild and perfect.
The outdoor pictures are from yesterday’s trip to Lynden City Park. This bridge was perfect for a reflection picture.
Later on yesterday evening, I went outside and found this little girl hanging out.
It’s apple season as the trees are self culling the abundance of apples on them. Candy for the deer! 😎
Tomorrow, I’m headed up the mountain to check on my widow friend. She’s not been doing too well although I’ve not had the opportunity to go visit for almost a month. I’m hoping she’s home and will answer the door.

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be shaken.” But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who slander you may be put to shame by your good behavior in Christ. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit, in whom He also went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built.
In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water. And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him
