Happy Anniversary dear! Where have the years gone, @silvertop?! It sure doesn’t seem that long! ❤️
Today is mine and @silvertop’s 45th wedding anniversary! We decided to celebrate by participating with our church family, in the Everson Days parade this morning! We both got signs to carry. Our job was to walk alongside the church float, wave and smile. The hardest part was dodging the candy the kids and a few adults were throwing to the crowds on the side of the road! The parade lined up outside the Nooksack Middle School. This is about a half mile east of town. I took a few pictures while things were gearing up.
A few minutes before we were heading out, we were all given instructions on what, when and where, and then Pastor Kyle led us in prayer.
Then, off we went! I have NEVER seen so many people in Everson at the same time! I unfortunately couldn’t take pictures of the crowds but suffice it to say, there were a few thousand folks there! I took an early picture where no folks were around to wave and smile at.
More pics before we left. There were 3 teams of Clydesdale horses there.
The parade continued on into and through town to the Riverside Park just west of town. It was a long parade, but ever so much fun!!
Here we all are at the end.
And, of course, Pastor Kyle.
Once we turned our signs in and we all posed for a group pic, we hoofed it back to town to get a coffee from Ballistic Brew, a local gal with a modified trailer that’s a coffee stand. I usually pick up a coffee from her on my way to work on Fridays as she is closed to the lumber mill I pass by to go to work.
They had tons of booths at the festival and it was so packed, you almost couldn’t walk!
There was a mechanical bull 🐂 there as well for the kids to enjoy.
Then, we had to hoof it back to the middle school to get the car. We went home to change some clothing out for cooler stuff as what had started out as a coolish day soon wasn’t because of all that walking and having double layers on increased the heat factor. We were unaware we were to receive church t-shirts to wear and get to keep. So consequently, we were a bit overdressed, lol! 😅
Then, off to Lynden for more coffee and a little food as we’d worked up a bit of an appetite by then. We took the coffee to Lynden City Park, just to relax for 30 minutes or so.
It’s been a lovely anniversary day spent with my love and my best friend, @silvertop! Thanks honey for humoring me with the parade participation and for still loving me after 45 years. Where has the time gone? 🤗❤️🌹
That’s gonna be it for today. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

BSB 1 Corinthians 13:4-13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways. Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.
🙏🌹
