Today was the day the City of Everson was going to shut off the water for the town for at least 6 hours. I got to work just before 8 AM, and it was still on as it should have been. At about 8:50 AM, I headed to the restroom. My hope was to NOT have to go to the porta potties at the park. After a couple weeks of construction guys using them….well let’s just say I’d rather not. 😳
Promptly at 9 AM, they did indeed shut the water off! My first appointment for the day was my frame rep from Tura. She’s a great gal and always brings lots of frames for me to select for the clinic. Small sips…..just small sips of coffee! ☕️
Time moved on as the doc wasn’t due to arrive until 1 PM. That’s early for a Thursday afternoon, but you see, we had to squeeze @silvertop in for an exam! The man who hadn’t had an eye exam in THIS century!! 😳 See his post for details.
The water was back on earlier than anticipated, so we agreed not to remove the ‘out of order’ signs for the bathroom simply because I didn’t trust them to leave it on. By 2:30, I figured we were safe enough. 😎
The afternoon was a bit of a bust patient wise. There were 2 ‘no-shows’ taking out an hour of the afternoon. Ironically, I ended up in the doc’s chair during that hour for an eye irritation that had been bothering me for a few days. Turns out my left eye had inflammation and to make it a little more complicated, he had a dickens of a time getting a tiny piece of a hair out of it! How’d that get in there?! Anyway, as soon as they arrive, I’ll be putting some drops in it to reduce the inflammation. 😏
