First for the day, I needed to renew my optician’s license. The state website for that had changed so it left me jumping through a few hoops to get the process done.
Then we headed up to Maple Falls, so named for the abundance of maple trees in the area. Late in the 19th century, pioneers exploring the area were so impressed with the abundance of maple trees that it was so named. It’s really just a wide space in the road with a post office, general store and a gas station with a convenient store attached. There is one stand alone local coffee drive through an another in the aforementioned gas station. Mt. Baker lodgings is also located there so you can make a reservation to stay up at Mt. Baker some 27 miles up the road.
I needed to go to the post office to drop an EDDM (every door direct mailing) for the clinic. Once that was accomplished, we headed down to Reese Hill Road to a friend’s house, to drop off a printer we gave to her.

Once the printer was delivered, it was off to Lynden to run another errand.
It it really pretty up in the mountains-we would prefer to be higher up than we are. Out towards the valley, the colors are not as intense as they are up there!
