We stepped out of the house today to go to church only to encounter this mama deer and her precious baby!
What’s the attraction to our yard? Well, it’s apples! It’s too early for them but I think the tree is culling the over abundance of apples and the ground is seriously littered with them. ‘Candy’ for the deer and boy do they love them! Even baby was enjoying them!
After church, we arrived to find them still here. Soon afterwards, I had to go to the mailbox at the road to look for a Sunday Amazon delivery. Mama was ever watchful……..
…..and baby was ever curious!
Such a cutie! I hope they both stay here on our place as they are safe from the cars and hunters although it isn’t hunting season yet.
Church was awesome as always with a thought provoking sermon. Pastor Kyle can deliver a good message and inject some humor now and again. 😁
The rest of the day was spent doing household chores and watering all of my outdoor plants, which mama deer and baby found interesting as well. Lunch and then out for a hike.
Our neighbors, Keith and Lynne sent out a neighborhood email about the super surplus of plums they have and had invited all of us to partake of them. We met Keith as he was leaving when we started the hike. I told him I had a bag with me just in case and he replied I need bags-as in plural! He said I’d see when we got there. He wasn’t kidding. So I picked for us and for our neighbors in the tiny house, as he gathered a dozen eggs for me to purchase when technically, their farm stand was ‘closed’. We stopped on the way back to get the eggs and share the plum booty. 😁
