Today was a ‘no doc’ day. It wasn’t however a ‘me, myself and I’ day though.
The day began with some admin tasks prior to opening. Then, my Tura frame rep, Debbie came. She did an inventory of her product lines, pulling those ear marked for return. Then the fun began-looking through the new frames and selecting what would be purchased for the clinic. Shopping is always fun! 👓
By 11:00, Lisa, the new employee, arrived. I gave her the tasks for the day and she began. We did catch up from her time off as she and her husband had taken a short trip.
Later in the afternoon, I began going over the tools used for frame adjustments and repairs. I also took a metal frame and a plastic frame and ‘mangled’ both. She became the optician while I played the patient with the mangled frame. I asked her to take a look and discern what needed to be done. Then, guiding her, taught her correct adjustment and some tricks of the trade. I dumped a lot of information on her, but I think she’ll do just fine. Repetition is the key and working with patients frames in real time will help.
Tomorrow is Friday, thank goodness and I can hardly wait for this week to be done! I’m sleeping in on Caturday!
In the meantime, enjoy a few random photos from the archives!
