Life is better with a flower!
It was a ‘me, myself and I’ day at work. I’d worked very hard on those seriously on fire things and made some amazing headway! I got two monkeys off my back-so to speak. 😁
As I was leaving, I took a closer look at my African Violet that sits on my desk. It’s one of a half a dozen or more plants that I keep at work. That was when I spotted it! A newly emerging bloom! I got up super close and snapped the picture. It’s interesting what you can’t see until you take a macro photograph. African Violets are fuzzy, but I never realized the blossoms were as well! This plant blooms faithfully every 4-6 weeks. It must really like where I have it on my desk!
That got me to thinking about flower pictures I’ve taken. I have over 10,000 photos on my phone, lol! So I did a search within my photos for flowers. I wasn’t disappointed!
Just looking at flowers, whether in nature or in pictures, just sort of makes me say ‘ahhhhh’ and relaxation immediately follows.
Flowers mostly smell sweet! There are a couple of varieties that don’t, but I tend to stay away from those. So I’ve covered the sense of sight and smell. There’s the sense of touch!
Ever notice how soft and velvet like flowers are? Just go feel a rose petal! One flower that I seriously want to gather and hold onto, is this one:
Digitalis grows wild here. It blooms once every two years. It is also the original medicinal flower that was used to treat ‘tired heart’. It is a heart stimulant. I’ve thus far resisted doing what I want, but someday, I will gather some close. I’ve never researched if it can transcend dermal contact, but just in case……
