Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
Our day began at church with an awesome time of worship and an awesome sermon! After church, they told all of us moms, to head out to the Cascade Room where the coffee and doughnuts are, but to run through the flower boutique they’d set up and select the flowers we wanted. Then at the end of the boutique, the youth would wrap your flowers in paper and tie a bow on them. I got three different roses, 2 mini carnation bunches and a couple other flowers that I don’t know the name of. I do love roses!🌹
After that, we headed home to put them in water. The day was mine to do with whatever I wished, so we headed out to Boulevard Park as I knew @silvertop wanted some steps.
We saw for the first time, the tall ship, The Zodiac, out sailing the bay. They serve meals on this cruise sailboat and I suspect it was a Mother’s Day Brunch sailing.
There were lots of people there today because of the day. We saw lots of families, some including grandmothers from the looks of it.
@silvertop took more pictures of people than I did. We’d just barely begun walking when I heard the sound of the crossing gate dropping close by. A train was coming! I ran up the outdoor stairs as quickly as I could to get a good vantage point for a photo.
It was being pulled by two BNSF diesel engines. The train was long and was comprised of open top freight cars with nothing in them. On the back side, two more BNSF engines were pushing the train.
Alfred was out napping and sunning.
I spied white wisteria blooming at a restaurant across the way. I’ve not seen that before or that I’ve noticed before.
I’ll share more photos on another day. Then it was off to My Nursery. @babygirl888, these pics are for you!
They have two resident kitties who roam the nursery. I found one sleeping in a plant box despite all the noise around as this place was seriously packed with people!
They always have a lovely selection of yard metal ornaments. They are a bit pricey though.
Some unusual planters for plants.
Oh my, did they have plants! I ended up purchasing herbs and will work on establishing an herb garden here over the next week or so.
After that, it was time for my weekly coffee and apple croissant at our favorite Starbucks. Then, a stop at the grocery for some fresh produce and then home.
The clouds had been piling up on the mountains all day long which meant that as we got closer to home, the temperatures dropped 10 degrees and the heavens dumped! I guess I don’t have to water those plants I planted yesterday!😊
That’s gonna be it for today. As always, take care and today, give your mother a hug! Enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌎🙏
