Wednesday.
Cloudy and uncomfortably warm. The sticky kind of warmth.
I took an afternoon walk along the fields again. I took some pictures of this pretty purple flower for this post and figured some #flowerphotography is all I am going to show today.
But then I took another walk after sunset. I remembered that around the summer solstice it's also the season for lightning bugs and it's a really amazing experience to go into the woods and walk amongst hundreds of little glowing fairies floating all around you.
What the phone's camera can capture doesn't do it justice at all, so I leave it to your imagination to experience the magic that's behind these long-exposure pictures. What the eyes could see was a forest that was almost pitch black with hundreds of slowly floating little glowing green dots all around and far far in the distance. What the camera captured is much less magical but it still looks kinda cool.
