Every scuff, a memory.
Every crease, a mile.
The weight of dust and asphalt
clings to their tired soles,
whispering of shortcuts taken,
corners turned,
and roads that stretched farther
than the body could bear.
They have stood in rain,
danced in laughter,
waited in silence
on days when tomorrow felt too far.
To some, they are just sneakers,
but to me they are witnesses—
faithful companions
who have carried not just my feet,
but my becoming.
