To the Friend in the Picture
I see you here, frozen in frame,
A thousand summers, still the same.
The grin I knew, the spark, the light,
That carried us through morning bright.
Barefoot runs on dusty roads,
Secret paths where laughter flowed.
Shared dreams whispered under trees,
Echo now like quiet seas.
Years may scatter, winds may call,
Yet here you stand, unchanged, small
A memory stitched in brush and hue,
A friend I’ve carried, old and true.
So let this portrait softly say:
Though time and distance drift away,
The heart remembers, firm and kind,
The golden face I left behind.
