RECAP AND REFLECT II

in Discovery-it5 days ago

Hi guys,

Today I’ll be sharing with you the last 7 drawings i created since. I intend to do this after every 7-8 drawings to help me track my growth effectively and know where i need to improve more on

So far I’d say its been great and i really enjoyed the process, I’ve constantly been able to show up for myself and put in the effort to make sure i create every day.

That in itself is a lot of growth for me. And thank you all for the constant support!

——————— ARTIST STATEMENT ———————

These drawings were made quickly, over eight days, as a way of paying attention. I drew people I recognize—men, women, children—caught in moments that are usually passed over. Carrying. Waiting. Holding themselves together. Existing without performance.

The marks are urgent and imperfect because the lives they reference are the same. I’m not interested in idealizing struggle or turning it into spectacle. I’m interested in presence—what the body remembers, how weight sits on the shoulders, how the face holds time.

Charcoal and pencil allow me to work directly, almost instinctively. I let the figures emerge through pressure, erasure, and repetition. What remains is not a complete story, but a trace—of labor, resilience, fatigue, and quiet dignity.

These works are fragments of lived reality. They don’t ask for sympathy. They ask to be seen.
