but by the weight of watching—
a country wrinkle,
a memory groove.
His glasses rest
like questions never asked aloud,
his gaze—
turned inward,
toward a thousand unspoken reckonings.
What does an elder carry
when the years do not whisper peace,
but echo with the ache
of all that still remains undone?
And still—
he stands.
A monument of quiet endurance.
A man shaped
by what he refused to forget.
