[গ্যাংটকে গন্ডগোল] A Funny Mis(?) Adventure With Le Family

in BDCommunity4 years ago

I was browsing through some posts last night and I saw a very interesting contest hosted by #BDCommunity. In the said contest, we are to share "the funniest adventure you had in your travels." For more details of the contest, check it out HERE. Now, let's start my story.

Well, this isn't the actual picture but the view looks like this. I took this photo from Osmeña Peak here in Cebu but my story is from my father's hometown in Negros island.

This story happened a long time ago. I don't know exactly when, but it was around 15 years ago. I was a high school student then and it was summer vacation. As usual, my family and I decided to spend the entire vacation in my father's hometown.

One day, my grandfather suddenly asked everyone of us to go to my great grandfather's land in the countryside. It's actually on a mountain, so everyone was so excited to go on an adventure. There were more or less 20 people traveling together to get there including eight youngsters including me.

Grandpa rented a jeepney for us to go to the foot of the mountain, but it was only until the main road. So upon reaching there, we rode a tricycle.

There are various styles for tricycles in the Philippines, and the one we took to the mountainside looks like the one above. We took three tricycles in all. In the tricycle I was riding, my grandparents were in front, at the back were me, my mama and my baby cousin. She was still around 3 years old that time. Then behind the driver were my papa and my uncle (baby cousin's father).

We had to cross the river that time and the people there insisted that the tricycle can withstand the current. Unfortunately though, the tricycle we were riding lost balance and the front part was going up. My uncle immediately went out to get my baby cousin, but my mother was so horrified she wanted to get out first. Her face was so hilarious that I was just laughing while embracing my baby cousin. She and I stayed in the tricycle while the others carried it across the river.

Then, we arrived in the final flat area. From then, we had to walk a few meters up the mountain. I and my male cousins were playing around looking for some guavas in the wild. While my other younger cousins were just walking together with that baby cousin. When suddenly, a cow somehow got irritated and started following them. They ran really quick while my uncles went to get the cow and rescue them. Whew

Finally, we arrived at the place. The house was surrounded with guava and other fruits. I and the other older cousins decided to go up a smaller hill to see the city view. It was so awesome. My older cousin shouted at the top of his lungs and it was really a great feeling. When we were called to get back to the house because it was time to eat, my older cousin ran down the steep hill and lost his balance. He slid down to the house and we were all laughing at him, including himself. (he wasn't hurt, though... it just looked so funny)

Took this near Kawasan falls. Not the actual river in my story but it has the same vibe.

On the way home, we took the tricycle again going back to the main road. My baby cousin now is riding together with her mom in the other tricycle. They were in front near the open door. Suddenly, their tricycle lost balance sideways and her mom accidentally lost her embrace because of the shock, so my baby cousin fell down from the tricycle. Luckily, she was fine with no scratches at all. We all got back to my grandfather's house safely.

A few years later, we all talked about that mis(?)adventure, especially to that baby cousin who didn't remember anything at all. It all became a happy memory for us. That was the first and last time we went to that place because the actual reason why my grandpa wanted us to go there was to witness our great grandpa's land before someone else owns it.

Sometimes, I and my cousins talk about it and hoped we had a camera that time to take photos or videos of all the crazy things that happened. It was a funny and crazy memory of our mis(?)adventure with the whole family.

That's it for my story. I invite my bestie @akielle to tell us her stories. She's into traveling, so she might have some fun stories to tell. :) Thanks for reading! ^^
